USCC 2008 Venue Style Sheet for Promethean: The Created

"None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free."
- Johann W. Von Goethe

I. Overview

After JD's last appearance the Created now know that one of their most famous might also be the keeper of something far more sinister and dark than even their dark nature would allow them to comprehend.

The Wasteland can be gone. The Disquiet can be quelled but at what price? And what happens when the enemy is no longer a brainless feeding mass but a rather sentient foe that calculates every step in advance?

The Created had to create bonds in order to survive. They created bonds in order to follow the Path to their lost humanity. And they created bonds in order to feel less lonely and more safe. What if the safety blanket of those bonds was moved away? Would the Created seek for it back or would they once again sink in the loneliness of the Pilgrimage?

Somewhere JD is having violent nightmares. Somewhere else a wise enemy smiles.

II. Setting

The setting for USCC 2008 Created takes place in an abandoned factory in the outskirts of town. While remote, the players should not be confused: mortal population is still all around them and may potentially also seek the privacy the area offers.

There have been reports of violence in the area so the state and county cops are indeed known to make appearances. Also please keep in mind that speeding traps could be set by the state troopers along the highway.

In terms of Wasteland effect, for the purposes of this setting, there is none other than the already bare lands near the factory. The forest preserves surrounding most of the area remain unaffected.

All Created that enter game need to be prepared for Pyros check. Any Sense Flux tests will be done after game starts and not as a downtime action.

NOTE: Any approval items need to be logged with the storytelling staff prior to the beginning of the actual game.

III. Player Information

Jurisdiction: This VSS is applicable to all sanctioned Promethean games, either ST moderated or in soft role-play, during USCC 2008, held in Cleveland, OH from May 8-11, 2008.

Universal VSS: All information in the Universal VSS is assumed to be included this Venue Style Sheet as well. Please refer to the Universal VSS.

Travel Information: Travel to the gathering in Cleveland is relatively simple thanks to access to the area by plane, train, or car. Your arrival at the convention out-of-character signifies your safe arrival in character.

Activation of Pre-Game Effects: Players will need to perform challenges with a VST or Narrator prior to entering the game.

Pyros: All characters entering into play will have full pyros.

Challenges: All challenges will follow the rules as clarified by the latest Camarilla rule supplements. Players are free to throw challenges with each other without the Lead Storyteller, except for in the case of combats and/or in any situation that will result in the death of a character. The Lead Storyteller, or a designated narrator, must be present and give permission before any combat and/or character death occurs.
