USCC 2008 Venue Style Sheet for Changeling: the Lost

Port in a Storm

"We all got it coming." –Clint Eastwood, Unforgiven

I. Overview

The new year has brought darkness to Lost society. Loyalist and Privateer activity is on the rise. New Lost find their way home at an alarming rate. The Courts, doing their best to maintain order and safety for their Freeholds grasp at straws as tide slowly rises. Whispers of the Others, the Fair Folk, are uttered commonly with reckless abandon. There are some who feel there is an accounting coming. The horror is that while the Gentry themselves would be expected, the most dangerous threat facing the Lost may be something far more close to home.

The Freehold of Cleveland has seen its share of hard times. As Spring begins its unstoppable transformation towards the sun washed streets and wrathful pride of Summer, something else has begun. Something terrible and alien. A call will be issued. Not to arms or celebration, but in remembrance. Remembrance of what the Lost had taken from them, or what they themselves have given up.

For two days, the Freehold of Cleveland's borders will be opened to any Lost who wishes to come together and remember the thread that binds all of The Lost together, their victimization, their freedoms, and most importantly, the sense of community that all Changelings share. This event is known as The Homecoming. Breaking from tradition however, it is the intent of this Homecoming to celebrate the return of all Lost from Arcadia.

Come, dress, drink, dance, and enjoy. And always, be careful.

II. Setting

The setting for USCC 2008 Lost takes place at an elegant, county club within the Freehold of Cleveland. The Magistrates of the Wax Mask have been tasked with organizing the event and Radio Free Lost will handle publicity/propaganda.

The Country Club itself is located outside of the hedge and is not considered overly secure. The Country Club is found on the outskirts of Cleveland and surrounded by several acres of forest. The main part of The Homecoming festival is being performed Beltane Style outside on the grounds, in the tradition of a garden tea party. Players themselves will have to be responsible for protections. The house is located outside Cleveland proper, so the possibility of mortals is low, although not impossible.

Finally, the established entrances to the hedge itself are located several minutes drive from the location of the gathering. Should PC's wish to enter the hedge they should be away that action/danger aspect of the VSS automatically increases to 5.

IMPORTANT NOTE: There will be several player/court/motley specific items which will be announced at Pregame. It is highly recommended that players attend opening announcements. However, should you miss the information, handouts will be provided with instructions on how to become involved in the festivities.

III. Player Information
